What does Stripe Do
Stripe is an online payment processing and credit card processing platform for businesses. When a customer buys a product online, the funds need to be delivered to the seller; Insert Stripe. Stripe allows safe and efficient processing of funds via credit card or bank and transfers those funds to the seller's account.
Story
While he was a freshman Patrick Collison founded Automatic. When he was 19 in ten months of establishment, the company was bought by LCM for 5 million dollars. Meanwhile, younger brother John attended Harvard in 2009.
In 2010 Patrick and John started working on Stripe. At that time they were questioning how to make web trading more feasible. For the solution, they looked at connections for 6 months.
In 2-weeks they built the prototype. They were not sure that people will understand their differences from PayPal. But despite their worries here they have valued over 95 billion dollars.
